Mr. Ash (LA Burns Series)
This work is inspired by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. Using heavy impasto paint to create the mounds of burning debris, tiny nails are embedded throughout the thick paint, representing rebuilding this once beautiful urban community. Mr. Ash, the small, cracked, white figure in the middle, is surrounded by the immense devastation and human sorrow.
