Resurrection
Resurrection addresses the tragedy of opioid addiction. The syringe, an implement of addiction, is juxtaposed to a butterfly, the universal symbol for the soul. The viewer is entrusted to interpret this correlation as it applies to their own experience. The injection points on the butterfly occurred completely by accident during the creation of this object. The artist had no idea of their placement in the veins until the photograph went to process.
