the condensed version : i used to be such a fun guy

It begins in the magazines with a psychological association - a knowing that two or more images are connected - without a clear, conscious understanding of exactly how or why. Then, through a playful and subconscious analog manipulation of the images, a story somehow begins to emerge out of the deep psyche and into consciousness. Once the visual portion of the narrative has been completed, I wait for the right text to 'call' to me and to draw me towards the precise passage which serves to render the work and its message complete. A passage will sometimes call from a magazine and at other times from a book such as Carl Jung's "Memories, Dreams, Reflections", St. Teresa of Ávila's "The Life of St. Teresa of Avila" or Friedrich Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra."
